Job Title: Road Crew Operator
Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for Operators on the Cold In Place Recycling Crew. The ideal candidate will be responsible to set up, maintain and operate various pieces of equipment with the ability to labor throughout the day.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Have the ability and willingness to dig, spread and level construction materials with a shovel
- Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner
- Set up and run various equipment
- Control and adjust equipment as needed
- Varying types of work including: digging, flagging, concrete work, backfill pipe
- Basic troubleshooting
- Active participation in terminal Emergency Response Drills
- Set up and run equipment

- Cross train in other departments for back up
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training
- Reliable transportation to and from work site
- Strong work ethic
- Strong math skills
- Physical Organization and time management
- Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
- Unafraid of heights
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
- Consent to a DMV license evaluation
- Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and MSHA Training
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
- Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
- Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting
Other Preferred Qualities:
- Ability to read and understand SDS
- Ability to work in all types of weather
- Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred
- Prior construction and/or laborer experience preferred
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred
- Basic math skills
Salary Range: $15.50-$45.00
