Overview

This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe and sanitary environment for customers and employees by performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Duties

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the store, including sales areas, restrooms, break rooms, and stockrooms.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
• Empty trash bins and remove waste from designated areas to appropriate disposal locations.
• Dust and wipe down shelves, fixtures, checkout counters, and other surfaces.
• Clean entrance doors, windows, and display cases as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic areas, ensuring spills are promptly cleaned to prevent hazards.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting needed repairs.
• Keep cleaning supplies stocked and organized, notifying management of any shortages.
• Follow safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Respond to immediate cleaning needs, such as spills, accidents, or emergencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma/GED

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to delegate and follow-up.

· Ability to work independently and interdependently.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Be at least 21 years of age.

· Ability to work in a diverse environment with people from various cultures, backgrounds, socioeconomic status, etc.

· Maintain confidentiality requirements and law

Preferred Qualifications:

·Previous Janitor/custodian experience
