Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Support:
- Train, mentor, and provide ongoing support to RN Care Managers across multiple communities.
- Conduct quarterly staff meetings and care conferences to ensure the team is aligned with Suite Living's care philosophy.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment across communities, promoting collaboration and effective communication.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures, as well as regulations set by the MN Department of Health (AL Licensing Division), are fully implemented and adhered to.
- Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation, including assessments, charting, MAARC reports, and training logs to ensure compliance.
- Lead and perform quarterly mock surveys with the RN Care Managers to ensure communities are prepared for regulatory inspections.
- Support RN Care Managers in conducting thorough assessments and pre-screens to determine appropriate care needs for potential residents.
- Oversee the completion of required training for all RN Care Managers and care staff within the region, ensuring compliance with licensing and regulatory standards.
- Plan and schedule Continuing Education (CEU) training for staff throughout the year to support professional development.
- Assist in onboarding and training of new hires and support staff during group training sessions as needed.
- Provide oversight in the proper storage, administration, and disposal of medications, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the implementation of care plans, including end-of-life care for residents, and ensure that the community meets all necessary clinical requirements.
- Be available as a clinical support RN during new admissions and when additional support is needed.
- Assist in the integration of clinical software systems (e.g., Point-Click-Care) to improve operational efficiency across communities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing & Clinical Services to implement and improve clinical policies and procedures.
- Support outreach efforts to local hospitals, clinics, home care agencies, and other healthcare providers to build strong relationships and support referrals.
- Be available for on-call support to assist RN Care Managers with triage and clinical questions, as well as when providing coverage during staff time off.
- Serve as the support RN during investigations, surveys, or when critical issues arise in communities.
Licensing & Experience:
- Active RN license in the state of Minnesota.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a senior living or healthcare setting, including leadership roles such as Director of Nursing or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of senior care best practices, particularly for elderly residents with dementia and memory care needs.
- Strong knowledge of medication management practices in assisted living and memory care settings.
- Experience in end-of-life care and the ability to assess and execute care plans for residents approaching this stage.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, residents, families, physicians, regulatory agencies, and the broader community.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel within the designated region (up to 7 communities in the Twin Cities area).
- Ability to adapt to changes in policies and procedures and respond flexibly as needs evolve.
- Familiarity with Point-Click-Care and experience with on-call triage support are preferred.
- Screening for communicable diseases and maintaining a clean record.
