What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at SukhoThai Restaurant, New Orleans?
This position is primarily on the wok station. Saute cook experience would be very helpful for this postion if you do not have wok experience. We can teach wok cooking skills based on your knowledge of operating a saute station.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations
- Assist with meal planning and menu development
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Support catering events and special functions as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service or as a line cook preferred
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food handling procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Note: This position may also be referred to as a dietary aide or cook in some settings. Experience in a dietary department or catering is a plus. Must be comfortable working with knives.
