QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent
Experience/Skills
- Works closely with Maintenance Specialist
- Possesses general knowledge of light maintenance
- Knowledgeable of all policies, procedures, safety regulations, infection control, and HFAP standards
- Ability to perform duties that vary frequently according to assignment
- Works effectively with minimal supervision
Required Licenses/Certifications
- CPR
Working Conditions
- Walks, stands, stoops, crawls, cleans, climbs ladders, and lifts/carries heavy objects
- Subject to vibration and noise from power equipment
- Some exposure to extreme weather conditions, electrical shock, toxic and caustic chemicals, cuts, burns, and injuries

Daily Task
- Always maintains a pleasant and cooperative service attitude towards co-workers, management, hospital/clinic staff, visitors, and patients
- Completes scheduled and assigned tasks under normal conditions within prescribed time parameters with accuracy and consistency
- Makes effective use of department/hospital resources (time, materials, equipment, etc.) to minimize waste and prevent damage
- Presents a professional image at all times as demonstrated by a high degree of integrity, technical knowledge, personal appearance, (neat, clean, in uniform with name badge visible), equipment orderliness and cleanliness, and cleanliness/orderliness of mechanical areas, power plant, and work area
- Maintains a good work attendance and punctuality record in accordance with hospital procedures and policies
- Maintains absenteeism to minimum standards
- Logs time on work orders for CMMS
Special Tasks
- Performs daily cleaning in assigned areas, routine maintenance duties, and security rounds, following established schedules and using prescribed methods
- Cleans entrances and sweeps sidewalks and parking lots
- Picks up and disposes of trash and infectious waste
- Cleans in specific area as assigned
- Visually monitors HVAC systems and power plant equipment and reports malfunctions
- Cleans and makes minor repairs as assigned
- Maintains and cares for hospital grounds including up to 30 hours per week in summer months
- Drives hospital truck as assigned
- Removes snow and ice from hospital entrances, sidewalks, and parking lots
- Makes rounds of hospital and parking lots for security
- Performs preventive maintenance
- Stamps, records data of stamp machine and takes mail to post office
- Operate emergency generator and auxiliary equipment in the event of power loss
- Completes assigned painting projects
- Possesses confined space awareness and gas analyzer knowledge
- Conducts Fitness Center mechanical equipment and security checks
- Completes Lab runs
- Assists with patients as requested by nursing
- Participates in phone system power failure procedures
- Helps in storeroom as needed
- Replaces light bulbs, delivers linens and newspapers
- Completes scheduled and assigned tasks under normal conditions within prescribed time parameters with accuracy and consistency
- Makes effective use of department/hospital resources (time, materials, equipment, etc.) to minimize waste and prevent damage
- Attends mandatory in-services and other educational offerings as requested
- Attends at least 25% of monthly departmental staff meetings annually, and reviews/initials meeting minutes when unable to attend
- Completes other duties as assigned
