Job Details

  • MedSurg RN needed ASAP in west-central Indiana.

    • Job Requirements

  • 1 year within specialty required
  • Travel preferred
  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS - preferred

    • Schedule Information

  • Shifts 7-7
  • Self-scheduling is used but is not finalized until Manager balances it
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement : Rotate in with perm staff

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit : MedSurg / tele - Acuity care unit (1 floor all units)
  • of beds : 22 total (3 LDRP, 2 ICU)
  • Ratios : 1 : 6 both shifts

    • Additional Details

  • Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Mainly geriatric and adult, COPD, CHF, PN, abd pain, minor surgical, SBO, covid
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes
  • Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Heparin
  • Charge Nurse / House Supervisor : Manager available M-F, House Supervisor available on nights and weekends
  • Are there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios : Yes - 2 on days, 1 on nights
  • RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) : No vents, Cpap and BiPap
  • Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? : Nurses must be able to read and interpret strips
  • Unit / Department specific orientation : 2 days
