SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager - Litigation works with partners to assist them in their efforts to generate increased business for the Firm through the development and implementation of the Firm's global litigation practice plan. The Business Development Manager - Litigation works with the Sr. manager to have global oversight of business development for the litigation practice and its related sub-practices (i.e., Antitrust, Appellate, etc) and is responsible for the positioning of the practices through all channels.
The Business Development Manager collaborates with partners to create the annual litigation practice plan. In addition, the Business Development Manager - Litigation is responsible for establishing the budget for the initiatives, tracking progress and developing alternatives as budget or strategy changes. The Manager will also work with other senior BD team members to liaise with Firm lawyers and staff members in departments including Learning & Development, Knowledge Management and Recruiting to support internal and external practice development initiatives, and on other tasks as they pertain to the maintenance and growth of the practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Practice Development
- Support partners in their efforts to manage existing and develop new relationships and identify opportunities for implementing business development initiatives in this regard.
o Keep track of referral sources and ensure communication lines remain open with these sources.
o Work with the CRM database team to support the practice development analysis, by monitoring and improving intelligence on contacts on an ongoing basis
o Identify relevant transactional or litigation precedents by industry, geography and type of matter
o Work with the responsible partner to develop key messaging points
o Support Firm efforts to respond to Legal Panel RFPs
o Maintain a complete record of all pitches (of any type). Identify patterns of success and failures in presentations and increase utilization of best practices.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining Firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. Compensation
The base salary range offered for this role will be between $145,000 to $190,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
