What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Porter position at Sullivan Motors, Inc.?
What does a Service Porter Do?
- Test drive vehicles
- Inventory receiving
- Drop off and pick up vehicles / parts from sublet shops
- Help maintain a clean and safe workspace / shop space
- Assist detail department with vehicle cleaning
- Assist service advisors with ordering parts from suppliers both over the phone and online
- Assist service advisors with reviewing repair orders to ensure that work is completed
- Assist technicians with vehicle inspections
- Coordinate with management for other misc. tasks
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid drivers's license required
- The ability to drive both automatic and manual shift vehicle
- Clarity of vision and hearing.
- Be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to report to work on time and stay on task during shift
- Desire to treat each vehicle with great care and respect
- Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Position requires frequent movement; i.e. bending, lifting, reaching, squatting, and getting into and out of various vehicles repeatedly during the work shift.
- Frequent and continual flexing of spine, hands, wrists and fingers.
- Must have proficient computer skills
- Knowledge of automotive maintenance/repairs is a plus
- Willingness to get hands dirty
