What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business to Business Specialist position at Sullivan Tire & Auto Service?
We are seeking a customer service oriented, effective problem solver to join our Business Development team in the Worcester, MA area. The Business to Business (B2B) Specialist is responsible for actively growing retail sales business throughout the Worcester, MA territory by soliciting new businesses, agencies, and associations to participate in a Sullivan Tire-Fleet Discount and/or Employee Group Discount Program. The B2B Specialists will partner with Retail Store Managers and Supervisors to meet the sales objectives and goals of the B2B Department and Retail Stores. This role requires working in and throughout the Boston MetroWest and Central MA area five days a week.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain and grow the customer base of assigned territory by actively soliciting new business accounts using the most productive and effective sales methods such as sales visits, phone calls, letters, etc. to Fleet Managers, Human Resources Managers, and other decision-making contacts.
- Work closely with the Credit Department ensuring credit standards/ payments are met by the account, and that new accounts are set up promptly.
- Partner with the Retail Store Managers to keep customer relationships strong and to quickly resolve any customer issues and/or concerns.
- Attending training as need to keep current on the tire and mechanical services, computer, and other business skills.
- Support Retail stores by providing sales and customer service coverage at the store when needed in emergency situations-e.g. storms, heavy traffic days, etc.
- Conduct meetings with the Retail Department on B2B matters and motivate them in their role in B2B business sales in the stores.
- Provide complete weekly sales call reports.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of high school diploma with 2-3 years of sales experience in automotive industry or retail environment. Bachelors of Arts Degree preferred. Proven sales record. Valid Driver’s License with reliable vehicle required.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong selling and customer service skills in a retail environment for making cold calls and building customer relationships and confidence
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Solid understanding of automotive tire and auto service industry
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-pace environment
- Solid knowledge of MicroSoft Office, VAST, and our internal software applications
- Solid writing skills to professionally write letters, flyers, etc.
- Willingness to travel 20,000 miles per year in territory with occasional overnight travel
- Willing to work a 6 day work week when needed
