ABOUT YOU
As a client-facing team member, you’ll bring your capabilities (hypothesis driven data analysis & visualization, including data engineering, business consulting) to help our clients determine the root cause and implications of business challenges related to strategy execution, organization design, and workforce optimization. You are comfortable working with Azure or AWS resources to create, manage and administer data assets designed to support consultants and analysts working across different client engagements.
You thrive in tackling ambiguous and complex business challenges, developing innovative data and insight creation solutions that diagnose and solve client problems. You will work with other generalist consultants and client stakeholders to identify internal and external sources of information, build data pipelines, and create insights that help the team accomplish project goals. Successful candidates will have experience working at a progressive, fast-paced management consulting firm (2 to 5 years) and be comfortable establishing and managing to data engineering best practices; exact alignment with our career model will be determined based on depth and relevance of your knowledge and experience.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create and manage Azure resources including blob storage, SQL Server databases, virtual environments, etc. as well as our GitHub repositories for Python code
- Develop hypotheses to explain business challenges and create the analytical plans required to test them; research and identify the different internal and external datasets that can help us triangulate on critical information needs
- Specify client enterprise datasets to support analyses; perform data preparation, data quality assessments, dataset integration, and complex analytics
- Participate fully in internal and client meetings contributing to ideation, problem identification, root cause analysis, and solution development
- Design, build and run sophisticated models in Excel and other tools to explore different business scenarios that inform client recommendations
- Visualize and present insights in a clear, accurate, and compelling manner both in charts and in presentations designed to achieve specific client goals
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- At least two years post graduate (excluding internships) experience working as a Data Engineer in a consulting environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in a data-driven field (e.g., engineering, data analytics, mathematics, economics)
- Cross functional or industry specific business acumen
- Skilled in hypothesis driven analysis including cleaning, processing and presenting data using some combination of Python, Excel and BI solutions
- Experience scenario planning and building sophisticated models using Excel, ideally

Reflected below is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to academic achievements, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
- $116,600.00 - $174,800.00 annually
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Hybrid, but willing to join a thriving Chicago Loop office culture at least 3 days per week. Must also be willing to travel up to 10 days per month.
