Job Description: Journeyman Plumber
Position Summary:
A Journeyman Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They work independently or under the supervision of a Master Plumber to ensure plumbing systems are functional, efficient, and compliant with local and state building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Repair
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, gas lines, and appliances.
- Use hand and power tools to assemble and install pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures.
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and other issues using pressure gauges or specialized equipment.
Troubleshooting
- Diagnose plumbing issues and determine the best course of action for repair.
- Identify and resolve problems with water heaters, sump pumps, backflow systems, and other plumbing components.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols on job sites.
- Obtain necessary permits for plumbing projects when required.
Customer Interaction
