What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant/Associate Professor of Animal Science position at sulross?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in animal science. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in equine reproduction, genetics, or exercise physiology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horsemanship and working with young stock. Teaching opportunities may include horse production, anatomy, reproduction, genetics, lameness and rehabilitation, introductory/advanced western horsemanship, breaking and training, other courses in the core animal science courses, or graduate level courses depending on departmental needs, the individual’s interests, educational background, and skill level.Additional responsibilities include participation in and conducting departmental-sponsored events. Participation in faculty governance and service activities at the departmental, college, and university levels is also expected. Faculty members are also expected to engage in scholarly activity. Activities are broadly defined and may include the scholarship of teaching, research, or similar activities. This position is security sensitive.
