We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Tendering Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for managing the full tendering process. This role requires close collaboration with sales, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to develop winning submissions and support business growth.
Your Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and client requirements
- Interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering drawings to develop accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to determine feasibility, pricing, and sourcing strategies
- Prepare detailed and competitive tender submissions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Develop cost breakdowns, pricing strategies, and risk assessments for each tender
- Identify and evaluate key risks and opportunities within tender requirements
- Maintain accurate records of tenders, supplier costs, and industry benchmarks for future reference
- Track and monitor tender opportunities, staying updated on industry trends and competitor activities
- Support contract negotiations and post-tender clarifications when necessary
- Continuously refine and improve tendering processes and documentation to enhance efficiency and success rates
- Keep department manager apprised of future opportunities
- Advise management of changes in current order and tender status
- Actively involved with standardization and continuous improvement processes
- Maintain quote and order files
- Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards
- Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and QESH Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, a related field, or relative work experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in tendering, cost estimation, or bid management in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting BOMs and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost structures
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP), SalesForce and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
