ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Position Summary

The individual with this position will have to split their time in-between the engineering team objectives, field service, field service reports and shop engineering support.   This engineering position will entail a dual role with hands-on-responsibilities along with other engineering tasks. It is expected that the individual will need training as part of on-boarding process and Sulzer will accommodate.

Job Requirements –

• Preferred 0 – 4 years’ experience in the following field of electrical engineering.
  1. Electric motor, generators repairs and design.
  2. Transformer repair and design
  3. Switch gear design and diagnostics
  4. Power Semiconductors
• Proficient in basic power theory,
• Knowhow in the following topics
  1. Operations of induction motors
  2. Operations of synchronous motors
  3. Transformer principle
  4. Operation of semiconductors.
  5. Winding Insulation Tests

Role

• The electrical engineer will be responsible to perform on-site field service preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on electromechanical equipment.
• They will also be responsible to provide the reports for the job performed to the customer in a timely manner.
• Prioritize internal safety initiatives as assigned.
• Assist with shop projects which are electromechanical in nature.
• This role will require the individual to be hands-on and involved in the day-to day operations.
• Based on proficiency, certain aspects of project management may also be assigned.

• During on-the-job training the individual is expected to train in inter-disciplinary tasks.
