Job Description:
Successful candidate will perform a wide range of configuration management (CM) and engineering data management (EDM) tasks related to aircraft weapon systems, subsystems, and related equipment. Must be able to work successfully with all levels of engineering, program management, and program leadership, including CM counterparts, AFLCMC directorates and headquarters, AFRL, HQ AFMC, prime contractors and subcontractors, and other government and private sector personnel.
Responsibilities include being able to:
- Use a wide variety of databases and software programs to conduct meetings in-person and virtually
- Assist to accomplish the configuration control function, to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking and final disposition of Advanced Change Study Notices (ACSNs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Requests for Deviation/Waiver (RFD/RFW), Deficiency Reports (DRs), airworthiness directive notes, service actions and notices of deficiency
- Assist to review change proposals for thoroughness, configuration and EDM impacts, and compliance with Government requirements. Make appropriate recommendations for Government review and disposition, and assist in the preparation and conduct of Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and business management boards (or their equivalent)
- Assist in maintaining change proposal files, and assist in providing historical information
- Assist users with selecting and tailoring data item descriptions (DIDs) in MEARS; preparing one-time and standard DIDs; and filling out data management forms related to Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
- Administratively provide, track, and maintain current status of CDRLs
- Plan, draft, and monitor data calls, including integrating data into briefings and documentation
- Support Engineers and Program Managers in recording, tracking, and resolving DRs
- Assist Engineers and Program Managers by planning and conducting formal and informal engineering program reviews and meetings
- Handle all tasks associated with records management and coordination of briefings and reports via MS SharePoint
Required Skills/Education:
Candidate must demonstrate s/he has the knowledge and demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of tasks required to support data/configuration/project managers supporting a wide variety of aircraft acquisition and modification programs.
This position requires someone who is self-motivated and proactive. You will be required to identify and solve problems, plan and execute business meetings, and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines.
The ideal candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Independent proficiency in MS Office tools is required. Experience with TEAMS and CVR is highly preferred.
Education:
- BA/BS, ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, three of which must be in the DoD.
- OR, 15 years of directly related experience described in the job description, five of which must be in the DoD.
