Job Description
The Candidate shall have knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in performing all tasks defined below:
- Functions as a senior technical expert engineer in the Information Technology Program Office designing extremely complex wired and wireless network systems for Air Force acquisition programs.
- Reviews Performance Work Statements and designs wired and wireless infrastructure that meets the needs of the customer.
- Design ACI fabrics, including leaf and spine architecture, APIC controllers, and integration with existing network infrastructure.
- Conduct project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons for network-related projects.
- Ensure security is designed into the network by designing in the latest security measures within the wired and wireless network environments.
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures.
- Design and implement network digital twins for design testing and proof of concept.
- Test and troubleshoot functionality of proposed and installed systems; identify and document technical issues to be addressed in the network design.
- Research, evaluate, and report on current and emerging networking, wireless, virtualization, and Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field desired
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in designing and deploying ACI.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco ACI, including APIC controllers, leaf and spine architecture, and ACI policy model.
- Experience with network protocols and technologies such as IP, VLAN, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in preparing detailed project plans for implementation
- Experience in ITSM tool – ServiceNow
- Experience in building network digital twins
