Sumiden Wire Products Corporation was the first manufacturing investment in the United States by Sumitomo Electric Industries (SEI). The investment was made in Stockton, California in 1979 for the production of PC strand. An additional investment was made in Dickson, Tennessee in 1989 for the production of stainless-steel wire. The Tennessee facility expanded its products offering to include PC strand for the east coast market in 1997. In 2016, Sumiden Wire acquired competitor Industrial Alloys to become the largest single stainless-steel spring wire producer in the US. In 2017, Sumiden Wire opened our 3rd PC strand manufacturing plant located in Dayton, Texas to better serve the entire US market from coast-to-coast.
SUMMARY
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to ensure efficient production processes. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring their operation, and making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. The operator is also responsible ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Additionally, they may be required to inspect finished products, record production data, and support continuous improvements in production efficiency. The role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

- Must be able to read and understand all SOP’s related to the position and meet all Safety Training Requirements.
- Must be able to wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) properly at all times.
- Must be able to complete all daily, weekly and monthly assigned and posted 5S tasks.
- Must be able to read micrometer and properly measure strand and wire diameter and calculate strand pitch.
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools.
- Must be able to zero the traverse and make the proper decisions on adjustment of the traverse and plates if needed.
- Must maintain reliable attendance and demonstrate punctuality.
- Must be open to work any shift (Day Shift: 6AM-6PM or Night Shift: 6PM -6AM)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Should have good arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.
