Description of Job: The Director, Global l Asset Management will primarily focus on VBC Marketing Strategies for our portfolio of products, solutions and technologies. The leadership activities include, but are not limited to, traditional asset management, business planning, business case and model development, customer and market gap analysis, financial planning, marketing planning, market research (Voice of the Customer)), risk Assessment (SWOT, PESTEL), segmentation, etc.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and own the overall global asset strategy and drive development initiatives for assigned assets in support of product launches and/or market penetration.
- This role may serve as the marketing project lead for pipeline or key development projects.
- Accountable for asset pricing, promotion, placement, product, profitability/ margin and positioning for assigned assets that correlate with assigned asset and/or products.
- Accountable for engaging with customers, centers of influence and external/internal experts to ensure a relevant understanding of the crop markets and VBC’s market position.
- Lead the forecast (LBE), annual short-range plan (SRP), and mid-range plan (MRP) planning process for this portfolio.
- Cross-functionally influence and collaborate with all functions, including R&D, sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop product definitions responsive to customer needs and marketing opportunities.
- Define, document, and deliver customer requirements for new products, as well as desired changes / enhancements for existing products.
- Continually review current product portfolio’s ability to meet customer needs, making necessary strategic adjustments where needed to facilitate achievement of growth goals.
- Determine which products to offer within each global region, crop, and market segment.
- Complete risk analysis (concept risk versus financial reward) on key issues.
- Evaluate, confirm, and prioritize all Crop Expansion concepts, financial projections for the annual R&D priority list and new product evaluation for assigned crops.
- Accountable for pricing and promotional strategies based on market research and competitive analysis; oversee implementation of these strategies in conjunction with Sales and Marketing (Product Management, Regional Marketing, SSBUs, etc) to establish, maintain and grow market positioning.
- Develop competitive analysis materials to compare product segments with key competitors.
- Establish market pricing strategies.
- Provide guidance and oversight on the marketing mix and asset allocation changes.
- Align with Project Management Office to oversee the fulfillment of all cross-functional initiatives to ensure strategic alignment with business objectives.
- Manage a strong team, including other managers through employee development, goal setting, and performance evaluations.

- Proven work experience in a leadership capacity as an Asset Manager, while being viewed as a strategic thought leader in this space
- Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong finacial background with experience in financial modeling
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational. leadership and managerial expertise
- Ability to lead both small and large cross-functional teams
Experience:
- At least 10 years of progressive management experience, including management of a diverse business portfolio of products and services, preferably in an agricultural environment
- Strategic decision-making skills, including new product introduction and M&A experiences
- Successful cross-functional and project management, negotiation, and strong presentation skills
- Ability to build a team and provide motivational leadership
- Experience with pricing, forecasting, finance, and distribution models
- Formal exposure to process improvement methodology
- Strong knowledge of functions relevant to product management including sales, market segment analysis, purchasing, product engineering, production, cost analysis, quality, and customer service
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Education: Bachelors degree required. Masters degree also required.
Location: Global business headquarters in Libertyville, Illinois, with a hybrid telecommuting policy of up to 20% per month.
Travel: At least 25%; including international travel, as needed.

Base Salary: The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from:
$151,00 to $196,400. Individual pay is based upon location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Incentives: All full-time employees are eligible for an incentive program or profit-sharing program in addition to their base salary.
