What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director, Underwriting Risk Management position at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation?
Responsibilities :
- Manage policy and strategy for Risk Appetite Framework regarding regional distribution risk and collaborate with the relevant departments.
- Formulate credit risk management framework including the regional Underwriting Committee where the relevant senior management discusses each underwriting transaction.
- Senior level review and challenge function of underwriting applications, collaborating with Credit Department. Deep and extensive credit knowledge and transaction experience to provide credit and market risk assessment of underwriting positions.
- Review and challenge weekly update of MtM position of unsold exposure and their strategy to the 1st line of defense with deep analysis and view of the market conditions.
- Perform the analysis of the underwriting portfolio and report it to the monthly regional committee.
- Support the other Credit Risk Management related tasks such as Private Wealth which includes market risk of collaterals (e.g. shares, corporate bonds).
