What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Hospital Office - Women's Health position at Summa Health?
Summary :
Coordinates day to day workflow for patient check-in, registration, scheduling, rooming, pre-authorization, chart review and clerical activities for the Front and/or Back Offices for the Women’s Health Service Line.Formal Education Required :
a. High School diploma or equivalent
b. Post high school coursework in healthcare, accounting, business, or related field preferred.
Experience & Training Required :
a. For Front Office - two (2) years’ experience in Patient Registration, Insurance Verification/Pre-registration, and/or Customer Service functions, preferably in a medical setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
b. For Back Office – two (2) years’ experience in scheduling, phone triage and medical assisting in a medical office setting.
c. Previous demonstrated ability to assess the needs of a group of staff and to then develop and implement a plan for the day, including experience training individuals or groups.
d. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
e. Demonstrated ability to work quickly under pressure, organize and prioritize work, and to be flexible in response to planned and unplanned changes.
f. Excellent customer service skills
g. Proficiency in hospital billing and registration system or training completed upon hire.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Knowledge of medical terminology
b. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products or past strong computer skills required
c. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers of size with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Level of Physical Demands:
a. Light: Job requires a significant amount of standing. Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a neglible amount of force continuously.
