What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Assistant Nurse Manager, Emergency Department position at Summa Health?
Serves as a unit-based resource that supports the RN Nurse Manager in the patient care operations for a designated area(s) on a 24-hour basis; plans and develops tactical short, mid- and long-term goals and processes to enhance and improve the operations of the unit to support Summa Health’s mission, vision and values; identify barriers to meeting goals; manages, guides, coaches, and evaluates the work performance of patient care staff in a designated area; collaborates with other patient care departments and areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations and services; assists with the management of unit budget plans; assists with calculating a return on investment for unit initiatives; participates in development of evidence-based standards of practice; identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes.
Formal Education Required:
a. Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
b. BSN required
- Master’s degree preferred
d. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio
Experience & Training Required:
a. Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience and demonstrated leadership qualities

k. Demonstrates computer skills required to perform job functions
