What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sonographer I, Diagnostic - Per Diem position at Summa Health?
Operates ultrasound equipment to produce ultrasound studies related to specific specialty. Identifies, records, and adapts procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
Formal Education Required:
- Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology
- Registered in field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, RDCS)
- Basic Life Support
Experience & Training Required:
- One (1) year of full-time ultrasound experience specific to field of posted position preferred
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
- Ability to assume collaborative relationship with physicians and other allied health care professionals
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, health care personnel, patients, families, and visitors
- Provides quality exams in this modality on a routine basis
- Ability to calibrate and operate equipment
- Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment
- Ability to independently prioritize work and effectively resolve problems.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
