Summary:
Plans and coordinates the daily workflow and scheduling for phlebotomy services and specimen processing for assigned areas. Provides oversight for the daily operational activities. Provides expert technical assistance, training, and orientation for personnel. Assists manager with departmental quality assurance. Assists in the development and administration of procedures, protocols, and policies. Assures compliance with federal, state, departmental, and hospital policies. Develops and implements performance initiatives to include assessing of outcomes and development of process improvement plans. Coordinates the work and function of these areas with other departments in the laboratory. Participates in management of reference lab test results.Minimum Qualifications:
1.Formal Education Required:
a.Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a NAACLS or ABHES MLT program, or equivalent, with certification or eligibility with accredited recognized agency or organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT, etc.).
b.Registry eligible applicants must achieve certification within the initial 6 months of hire.
c.Certified phlebotomist or equivalent training
d.Minimum of 12 continuing education credits are required to be completed each calendar year for continued employment.
2.Experience & Training Required:
a.Three (3) years professional experience in phlebotomy techniques, patient registration and insurance data requirements, laboratory specimen collection requirements, handling, and transport
b.Two (2) years’ experience public contact related to customer service, dealing with patients and physicians

b.Must have excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills

4.Level of Physical Demands:
a.Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
