Surgical Technician - ASC/ASF

Summary

Under supervision, provides support to surgical procedures by setting up operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies. Functions as scrub person throughout procedure.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education Required

• Completion of approved surgical technician program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
  
  

Experience & Training Required

• Ability to obtain BLS Certification

• Ability to operate sterilizers, adjust operating tables and accessory devices, and handle instruments

Level of Physical Demands

• Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects
• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
• Requires working under stressful conditions and/or working irregular hours
• Requires exposure to communicable disease, blood, body fluids, sharps, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other potentially hazardous conditions common to a clinical environment; risks of falls, strains, etc.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
