Summa Mechanical Contractors, LLC. Is looking for a hands on Pipefitter Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating pipefitting projects within a construction setting. As a pipefitter Superintendent you will oversee and manage project needs including but not limited to materials, personnel, schedules, and communication with project management team and building officials
This is an 8-month contract with the potential for transition into a full-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Must have a hands on attitude, willing to help those under them.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets for pipefitting projects.
- Allocate resources and manpower efficiently to meet project timelines.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, offering feedback and implementing corrective measures as needed.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe work environment.
- Ensure that pipefitting work is performed to the highest quality standards and in compliance with project specifications and industry codes.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work to identify and rectify any issues.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure the timely availability of required materials and equipment for the projects.
- Oversee inventory management, maintaining adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Supervise and actively participate in the installation, assembly, and repair of piping systems, including cutting, threading, welding, and brazing.
- Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to guide the team effectively.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project execution.
- Propose innovative solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Act as a liaison between the pipefitting team, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and milestones effectively.
- Monitor project expenses and ensure that the project stays within the allocated budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.
- Maintain accurate records, including work progress, materials used, and any changes to the project scope.
- Prepare reports and documentation required for project completion and client deliverables.
