Summer/Seasonal Field Operator
Looking for a great Summer/ Seasonal job with great views and a purpose? Eagle River Water and Sanitation District is currently seeking Seasonal Field Operators to support in summer operations. This role will support the goals of the Field Operations Department, which maintains and enhances the safety and well-being of the community by providing exceptional water and wastewater service and maintaining the District’s extensive network of underground assets. The department continuously strives to meet the needs of the community by constantly focusing on customer service, efficient and effective utilization of resources, safety, innovation, and teamwork.

The regular schedule for this position will be 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday but may work weekends or holidays as required. This position will work up to 1000 hours for the season and will be based out of the Avon Wastewater Treatment Facility. We would prefer a candidate who can start in April or May and work for six months.
What you’ll do:
- Under guidance from experienced staff, repairs and maintains District water distribution and wastewater collection assets such as fire hydrants, water mains, valves, sewer lines, manholes, lift stations and similar equipment using a variety of power and hand tools, as well as occasional use of heavy equipment (e.g., backhoes, backhoe loaders, dump trucks, water/sewer jetting trucks, tractors, and lowboy trailers).
- Assists experienced staff with service line locates, taps and leak detections using locating equipment, leak noise correlators, and sounding equipment; televises sewer mains.
- Assists experienced staff with fire hydrant flow tests, and fire line flush tests; assists with data collection concerning utilization and efficiency of water system assets.
- Creates and completes work orders and updates asset information in asset management software (e.g., CityWorks).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be comfortable performing repetitive preventative maintenance tasks, including turning valves, jetting, CCTV work, and fire hydrant maintenance.
- Ability to work with hand tools and basic mechanical ability required.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn required.
- Proven customer service skills and the ability to work productively with minimal direct supervision.
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) are essential as this position works closely with customers, contractors, developers, and other District Departments.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's license and be insurable under District's standard.

Pay Range
The pay rate for this role is $27.47 - $38.45/hour. The starting range depends on qualifications but generally falls within the minimum and midpoint of the pay range based on qualifications.
