Job Description
Park City Community Church is seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Camp Director for our 8-week Summer Adventure Camp. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Camp Director to oversee camp operations, supervise counselors, and ensure a successful summer experience for both campers and staff. This position combines leadership, administrative duties, and hands-on support to create a safe, engaging, and fun camp environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Supervision: Assist the Camp Director in managing and supporting all camp counselors, including Junior Counselors and Counselors in Training.
- Training and Development: Help plan and lead counselor training sessions, ensuring staff are prepared for their roles.
- Administrative Support: Manage schedules, attendance, and camper records. Coordinate daily logistics and resolve issues as they arise.
- Leadership: Act as a key point of contact for parents, camp and church staff, campers, and camp volunteers.
- Activity Oversight: Support and monitor daily activities, ensuring they run smoothly and align with camp goals and themes.
- Safety and Compliance: Help enforce safety protocols and ensure policy adherence, including Safe Sanctuaries guidelines. Model respectful use of church facilities for campers, counselors and camp volunteers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in camp leadership, teaching, or a similar role
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in administrative tasks, such as scheduling and record-keeping.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins).
- Background check clearance (required).
Schedule: Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM
