Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Cabin Counselors to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children. Cabin counselors are required to be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Work with a diverse staff in a collaborative manner and willingly share leadership with all ages.
- Agree and follow the staff code of conduct and all staff policies.
- Attend pre-camp and ongoing staff meetings and training.
- Supervise a cabin of six to eight campers and three to four Huddle Leaders.
- Always maintain order and conduct in the cabin.
- Guide evening devotions before lights out.
- Share faith willingly, factually, and honestly without force or unnecessary emotion.
- Be an outstanding role model for the campers and Huddle Leaders.
- Identify and meet campers’ needs and teach good self-care and independent living skills.
- Encourage campers to participate in all cabin and camp activities.
- Lead morning calisthenics and games on the field before lunch under guidance of Games Director.
- Encourage Huddle Leaders to take lead during cabin activities when appropriate.
- Always monitor, evaluate, and care for camper health and well-being.
- Greet campers and families upon arrival and orientate them to camp.
- Establish cabin rules, responsibilities, and emergency procedures with campers.
- Joyfully participate in all cabin activities and camp functions.
- Report any suspicion of child abuse to the Camp Director and discuss it with no on else.
- Assist with other job duties outside of the normal scope of their job description to ensure that programs run smoothly and safely or is deemed necessary by the Camp Director.
