High School Summer School Teacher

Position Description:

The individual chosen for this position will teach a credit recovery  course during summer school at Oregon City High School. The program will run Monday–Thursday each week, July 6 – 30, 2015,  from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.  Must be willing to collaborate with a other teachers during summer term.  Qualified applicants will have experience and passion for working with struggling or reluctant learners.  Flexibility is a must.  

The High School Summer School Teacher will provide engaging and effective instruction to students through a credit recovery process during the summer program at Oregon City High School. Responsibilities include building quick relationships with students, utilizing district-approved curriculum and resources to accelerate student learning, collaborating on enrichment activities, supporting student supervision and attendance, and communicating with families. The teacher will contribute to a safe and equitable learning environment and participate in professional development prior to the program's start. 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students and establish a safe and positive classroom environment
• Provide clear and effective grade level instruction, differentiating for student learning needs
• Monitor student learning and conduct summer school assessments as outlined 
• Follow summer school instructional scope and sequence, utilizing approved resources to meet learner needs
• Collaborate to create and implement hands-on interactive enrichment activities 
• Maintain student attendance records 
• Communicate with families and staff 
• Use of related software

Qualifications

• Three years of teaching experience preferred
• Oregon Certified Teacher License 
• Multilingual applicants preferred 
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of instructional best practices as they relate to summer programming
• Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices for all students

• June 16-18, June 23-26, June 30-July 3, July 7-10, 2025

Hours 

• 7:30-3:30

Rate of pay

• Teacher's hourly rate (posting internally only)
