What is Summer Springboard?
Our mission at Summer Springboard is to help students increase their self-awareness so they can make decisions about college selection, academic majors, and career planning that reflect their personal vision for success. Our innovative pre-college summer programs, offered at some of the nation's leading colleges and universities, combine the benefits of an academically challenging summer experience with tools and frameworks for personal leadership development and self-discovery.
We are seeking enthusiastic leaders to serve as Assistant Campus Directors and co-manage our programs during Summer 2025. Employment begins May 21, 2025, with a 5-day mandatory in-person training, and transitions to a 24/7 residential on-campus role from June to August (exact contract dates vary by campus location).
Position Responsibilities
Assistant Campus Directors play a key leadership role on our campus program teams to support the Campus Director. We are seeking energetic individuals with great people skills who are organized, logistically minded and enjoy coordinating people and projects. Assistant Campus Directors live alongside students and have responsibility for the students 24/7 while programs are in session.
● Support the Campus Director with staff coordination and oversee afternoon, evening, and weekend activities. The Campus Director and Assistant Campus Director are available 24/7 throughout the program to support all logistics, operations, and programmatic needs.
● Assist with the training, management, and coaching of the residential staff team, upholding SSB policies and procedures at all times.
● Act as the primary point of contact and liaison for Instructors, responding to questions and concerns regarding classrooms, supplies, or excursions.
● Serve and step in as Campus Director when needed or when the Campus Director is unavailable. The Assistant Campus Director is considered second in command on the campus team and serves an important role of backstopping and supporting the Campus Director with other responsibilities outside of the academic course coordination.
● Provide administrative support to the Campus Director on reports, budgets, and schedule.
● Communicate with families and Headquarters staff as needed.
While these are the core responsibilities of the Assistant Campus Director, working with young people means that no two days are the same! The dynamic, fast-paced environment and constant changes are what make this job appealing. The Assistant Campus Director will encounter different scenarios and unexpected challenges, requiring flexibility, communicative, and graceful under pressure, as well as know when to ask for support from the HQ team.
Training:
● Complete online pre-program training via a designated platform
● Complete 5-day mandatory in-person training (May 21, 2025 - May 25 ,2025)
● Participate in virtual training with Summer Springboard HQ and Campus Director
● Attend three days of in-person training on campus prior to the start of the first camp session
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred
● At least two years working with students in a classroom, camp, or similar setting
● Experience in management or leadership roles within a team setting
● Comfortability utilizing Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Photos, Docs, Slides)
● CPR Adult & Child First Aid Certification
Note: Summer Springboard does not accept online CPR/First Aid certifications. Certifications must be attained prior
to the staff’s contract start date at the expense of the candidate.
Preferred Skills:
● Experience living, working, or studying at an SSB campus or surrounding area
● Administrative, logistical, or event management experience
● Strong culture and relationship builder with team, families, and students
● Calm under pressure and ability to manage stress and balance multiple priorities
● Energetic, possess stamina and endurance: program days are intense and full!
Compensation and Benefits:
● Competitive compensation starting at $900 per week
● Round-trip travel to campus location(s) and Director Training
