Summer Skills Academy Teachers - Grades 5-8 (Temporary)
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Instruct Migrant students and English Language Learners in one of the following areas: Math, Writing, Organizational Skills or English Language Development
- Do pre-and post- assessments to evaluate students’ progress
- Use data to inform instruction
- Document skills or language proficiency growth of students
- Work cooperatively with other staff to provide quality instruction for students
- Effectively manage student behavior
- Provide guidance and direction to instructional assistants
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Oregon Teachers License
- ESOL Endorsement and Systematic ELD trained required for ELD teachers
- SIOP/Constructing Meaning trained for Writing and Math teachers
- Ability to deliver quality instruction in a workshop designed classroom for Organizational Skills and Writing teachers
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Principal’s recommendation
