Optical Assistant

Job Overview
As an Optical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and support within our optical practice. You will assist patients in selecting eyewear, manage patient records, and ensure a smooth workflow in the office. This position requires experience in retail sales to effectively communicate with patients.

Duties

• Greet and assist patients as they enter the practice, providing a welcoming environment.
• Help patients select appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
• Assist Opticians in the preparation of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Maintain and update optical records with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Conduct preliminary eye tests and gather necessary information using specialized equipment.
• Maintain inventory of eyewear and optical supplies, ensuring that the display is organized and visually appealing.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient care.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear and contact lens care and usage, as well as insurance benefits related to their optical needs.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience or skills in the following areas:

• Retail sales experience, preferably in an optical or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical records.
• Experience with Crystal PM or similar software systems.
• Our ideal candidate is someone with an eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent patient service.

Pay: $14.00 - $14.75 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
