What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Summers Pharmacy?
The Pharmacy Technician is an integral part of the pharmacy operation and must be able to:
- MULTITASK and maintain a positive attitude.
- Providing high quality customer service to patients and doctors while protecting patient confidentiality.
- Provide confidence through patient understanding, and by providing positive, friendly and helpful service.
- Accurately fill and refill prescriptions under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist within the guidelines of federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Maintain and stock inventory as directed for shelf stock and automated dispensing units.
- Order product, properly check in drug orders and put merchandise in its correct location.
- Communicate with doctor’s offices and insurance companies for billing and patient needs.
- Show proficiency in typing and computer operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- We will train you but you are required to pay Missouri State Board of Pharmacy licensing fee.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Normal business hours Monday - Friday 9am to 6pm
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand conversational English to correctly communicate with customers, physicians and nurses.
