Job Summary:
Summers-Taylor is seeking an Asphalt Foreman to join our team. The Asphalt Foreman plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing asphalt paving projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of asphalt operations, paving techniques, and safety protocols, with a proven track record of successfully completing projects on time. As an Asphalt Foreman, you will lead a crew of skilled workers, coordinate daily activities, and ensure that all tasks are executed efficiently and according to project specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards while adhering to safety regulations and guidelines. In this hands-on role, you will also liaise with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to effectively communicate project status and address any issues that arise.
Job Duties:
- Supervise and lead a team of asphalt paving workers, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to optimize project timelines.
- Conduct safety and training meetings as required.
- Conduct training and mentorship for team members to enhance skills and safety awareness.
- Record daily time and site conditions.
- Delegate and prioritize work.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Asphalt Foreman or in a similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- TDOT experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safety hazards on and around the job.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
- Must be able to work (when required) weekends, night shifts.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must pass drug screen and physical.
- Must comply with criminal background check.
