Job Summary:
Summers-Taylor, Inc. is looking to add experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to our crew. Summers-Taylor is currently working in Western North Carolina between Ramseytown and Weaverville, but are not limited to these areas. The Grading Crew Operator is responsible for safe and efficient operating of Summers- Taylor yellow- iron fleet. The Heavy Equipment Operator is critical to the success of the grading division and plays a major part in establishing the foundation for heavy highway / road construction projects. To be successful, the heavy equipment operator must have the ability to operate various types of equipment including dozers, scrapers, off-road dump trucks, and various sized excavators, etc. At Summers-Taylor, the Heavy Equipment Operator could be assigned several different pieces of equipment during the project. May be required to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, enclosed spaces, and heights.
Job Duties:
· Safely Operate assigned Heavy Equipment.
· Must be able to read and adjust gauges, dials, and other indicators according to blueprints and foreman direction.
· Must keep material clean and stored in a safe manner.
· Will be required to perform manual laborer duties as directed by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
· Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
· Must be able to work weekends, night shift and overtime.
· Must have a valid Driver’s License and willingness to commute to job sites.
· Must pass drug screen and physical and criminal background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.50 per hour
