Activities Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, particularly those in memory care and assisted living settings. This role requires a compassionate individual who understands the unique challenges faced by seniors, especially those dealing with dementia and other aging issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate a comprehensive activities program that promotes social interaction, physical health, and mental stimulation for residents.
• Assess residents' interests and needs to create personalized activity plans.
• Facilitate recreational therapy sessions that enhance cognitive function and emotional well-being.
• Organize special events, outings, and celebrations that foster community engagement.
• Collaborate with staff members to ensure activities align with care plans and support overall resident wellness.
• Maintain schedule management to ensure a balanced variety of activities throughout the week.
• Provide training and support to staff on best practices for engaging residents in activities.
• Document participation levels and gather feedback to continuously improve the activities program.

Experience

• Proven experience in senior care settings, particularly with memory care or dementia care populations.
• Background in recreational therapy, social work, or related fields is preferred.
• Strong event planning skills with a track record of successful program implementation.
• Familiarity with aging issues counseling and long-term care environments is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with residents, families, and staff effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
