Bilingual Spanish Paraprofessional – Summit Academy Draper Campus
Summit Academy Draper is accepting applications for part-time Bilingual Spanish Paraprofessional to begin Fall 2024. This position will be working closely with teachers and children in a part-time capacity in our Spanish Immersion Program.
Candidates’ duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing instructional, behavioral, and other support to students in and outside of the classroom
- Assist teachers in small groups with Spanish Language Arts, Math classes and other teaching duties as needed.
- Assist in implementing daily schedule, tracking student data, and providing behavioral supports to students.
- Ability to lead small groups; learn through play; communicate orally and in writing; and adhere to safety practices
- Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance to ensure a consistent focus on student learning.
- Ability to administer first aid; apply assessments; prepare and maintain accurate records.
- Perform other duties as assigned when needed.
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during portions of workday.
Preferred Paraprofessional skills and qualifications:
- Required - Spanish fluency
- Must consent to a background check.
- High school or equivalent
- Candidates must meet paraprofessional standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to assist in classroom instruction and learning.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to work closely with children.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient at all times.
- Knowledge of classroom subjects.
This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn under the direction of a mentor Teacher. Hours/Salary Part- time hours: 20-23 hours per week with additional hours in August Monday- Friday.
Varies from 7:50 am- 3:30 pm depending on assignment. Salary: $16.50 per hour.
