Job Description:
Summit Academy High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the position of Head Boys Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong basketball background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court. The Head Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the boys' basketball program, including coaching, practice planning, game strategy, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the boys basketball program, including varsity and junior varsity teams.- Develop practice schedules and game strategies.
- Foster an environment of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
- Work closely with the athletic department to ensure adherence to school policies and league regulations.
- Mentor and develop student-athletes to achieve success on the court and in the classroom.
- Attend all practices, games, and team-related events.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- In-depth knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and build rapport with student-athletes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with parents, faculty, and school leadership.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to Summit Academy’s policies and guidelines.
