**Job Title:** Head Girls Volleyball Coach
**Location:** Summit Academy High School, Bluffdale, Utah
**Reports To:** Athletic Director
**Job Description:**
Summit Academy High School is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Volleyball Coach to lead our Volleyball program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching, a commitment to fostering a positive team culture, and a focus on both athletic and academic development. As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the volleyball program, including coaching, player development, and program administration.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement practice plans, training programs, and game strategies that enhance player skills and team performance.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and instruction to student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and academic excellence.
- Manage game-day operations, including setting lineups, making in-game adjustments, and ensuring effective communication with players and staff.
- Evaluate, and retain players who can contribute to the success of the program both athletically and academically.
- Oversee assistant coaches, ensuring their alignment with the program’s goals and values.
- Coordinate off-season conditioning programs, camps, and clinics to promote player development and program growth.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements.
- Engage with parents, staff, and the broader school community to promote the volleyball program and foster support.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes to ensure they meet school and eligibility standards.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher, with a successful track record in baseball.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and the community.
- Commitment to promoting academic success and character development alongside athletic performance.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies.
**Working Conditions:**
- This is a part-time, seasonal position, primarily active during the volleyball season with additional off-season responsibilities.
- Evening and weekend availability is required for practices, games, and other team activities.
