Position: Social Studies Teacher / Academic Advisor
Location: Stow, Maine
Pay Rate: $48K Plus Excellent Benefits
Schedule: Monday-Friday, School Day Hours
Class Size: Maximum of 8 students
Students: Adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, etc.
Behaviors: We do NOT work with students who are physically aggressive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- CERTIFICATION NOT REQUIRED!

Responsibilities:
This position is classroom-based, requiring a knowledge base in Social Studies subjects. The Social Studies teacher will provide individualized instruction and academic advising to a small group of 7th-12th grade students in an all-gender group. Our academic model takes advantage of a blended learning classroom setting to provide individualized academic plans. A background in classroom teaching, special education, and/or working with at-risk teens is a plus but not required. Responsibilities include: supporting students through Social Studies courses supplied by an online curriculum, developing individual academic goals and strategies, creating opportunities for students to work on group projects, working under the supervision of a licensed clinician to support individual treatment goals, maintaining a clean classroom, and regularly communicating with families of students. The Social Studies teacher reports to the Academic Director.
