POSITION TITLE: Director of Quality DATE: February 2024

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Quality reports to the Vice President/Accountable Manager and is responsible for providing leadership to the quality and safety departments in obtaining the goals and objectives of the organization; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops long and short term strategies for the quality and safety departments with particular focus on growth and efficiency opportunities.
  • Solicits counsel and directs the subordinate managers to develop overall goals and policies for their respective departments.
  • Provides a regular review of present/past company quality/safety performance and set additional expectations as necessary. (MOR)
  • Responsible for execution and the sustainability of the 5 S strategies across the organization.
  • Develops quality strategies that support growth opportunities to generate revenue.
  • Independently develops and leads cross-program team of associates and managers to share best practices, provide professional development, and promote collaboration and consistency across programs.
  • Ensure we remain compliant to all regulatory requirements to include FAA, DCMA, Manufacturing OEM, customer and other quality standards.
  • Leads audits of our multiple facilities to ensure compliance to all Service Center, AS9100 and AS9110 standards.
  • Develop, Fine tune and Report on the quality metrics as defined by company leadership: Audits and audit findings, internal external, CAR completion, Quality escapes and others.
  • Works with other departments to ensure procedures written are compliant but are value added to the operation of the company.
  • Leads the quality team supporting manufacturing and MRO business units.
DIMENSIONS: Responsible for the team including quality, safety and training

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A & P License and/or Inspection Authorization preferred.
  • Bachelor ‘s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of career experience and education.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an aviation quality management position.
  • Must have 15 to 20 years of experience in all aspects of business required.
  • Secret security clearance preferred ability to obtain a security clearance required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the current Quality requirements including FAA Regulations (Part 21, 43, 145), DCMA 8210.1, Customer quality standards, etc. as well as inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used to determine the quality or airworthiness of an article being produced in manufacturing or undergoing maintenance or alteration in the MRO business unit.
  • Prior experience in the Armed Forces desired.
  • Must have strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills required.
  • Must be able to focus on key tasks, prioritize duties, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Exceptional communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.

Working Environment: The working environment is corporate office facility. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
