Guide 10-12 participants through weeklong ATV trek consisting of ~50 miles Coach and instruct participants of all levels to safely operate ATVs Teach participants to overcome fears and provide feedback to better their experience Conduct daily inspections of equipment and perform basic ATV maintenance Guarantee that all riders are properly trained and documented Perform off road motor vehicle rescues and render first aid as needed. Assist with the set up and takedown of the ATV facilities and equipment Ensure that all equipment is used properly, inventoried, and returned in good repair Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications & Training
21 years of age or older for INSTRUCTOR. 18-20 years for GUIDE. Required : Complete "Wilderness First Aid" and "CPR / AED" (training provided) Required for 21 : Complete ASI trainer course (training provided) Required : Experience riding ATVs and / or teaching / guiding off road vehicles Demonstrate proficiency riding an ATV Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination Be or become a registered member of Scouting America Performance Results
Completes contract period with 2-4 positive experiences Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants Contribute at least one improvement to the ATV Experience program Physical Requirements
Up to 9 hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, and the ability to lift 70 lbs. Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements HERE Uniform
