Associate Medical Director - PsychiatristAbout the Job : PURPOSE STATEMENT : The Associate Medical Director will play a crucial role in supporting the Medical Director in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and implementing medical policies and procedures. This position requires a dynamic leader with expertise in psychiatric care who can collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and support the hospital's mission.SALARY RANGE : $300,000 - $340,000 annuallyRoles and Responsibilities : ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Assist the Medical Director in providing clinical leadership and oversight to the medical staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical programs and services to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.Conduct regular case reviews and provide guidance on complex cases to ensure evidence-based and patient-centered care.Collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and safety.Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet organizational goals.Lead initiatives to maintain accreditation standards and comply with state and federal regulations.Assist in developing and updating clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to reflect best practices in psychiatric care.Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and legal requirements.Mentor and supervise medical staff, providing guidance and support to enhance professional development.Conduct performance evaluations and assist in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-quality medical professionals.Maintain a partial clinical caseload, providing direct patient care and treatment planning.Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulations.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS : Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations.Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.LICENSES / DESIGNATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS : Current license to practice medicine, by the state in which the facility(s) operate.Board certification in Psychiatry.Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS : Previous supervisory experience preferred.Why Peak View Behavioral Health?Peak View Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
