The Maintenance Technician position holds a very important role within the organization and will work under the direction of the VP of Operations.
Summary & Responsibilities
The person must display the ability to work within a team environment, make logical decisions and show flexibility in a fast‐paced environment. This position requires a strong work ethic, positive safety record and a commitment to quality.
The maintenance technician will have responsibility spanning the entire Fort Worth Campus (3 production buildings & 1 distribution center – all with‐in walking distance) and work with minimum supervision.
The responsibilities for this position shall include but is not limited to the following:
- Shift flexibility where weekends and nights may be periodically required to maximize machine up‐time.
- Perform various troubleshooting and preventative maintenance duties to equipment as needed.
- Repairs manufacturing, material handling and process equipment as needed.
- Work cooperatively with all employees, vendors, and contractors. Manage/coordinate with vendors for services and preventive maintenance on facility, production, or related equipment.
- Willingness to learn and/or develop an understanding of production and process equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and potentially stressful conditions.
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards and policies by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury or illness from exposure to hazards. Maintain housekeeping by adhering to established site standards and by removing all maintenance‐related parts and waste to ensure a safe and orderly job site.
- Perform the proper lock‐out/tag‐out procedures on equipment in accordance with applicable standards and minimize health, safety, and environmental hazards to employees and the community. Follow OSHA guidelines.
- Use equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and established safety policies to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Handle all maintenance materials and parts in accordance with established standards and procedures to prevent damage to the parts and equipment.
- Document maintenance activities, update logs, and report issues to management as needed.
- Preform assigned general housekeeping duties.
- Preform regular inspection activities on equipment to identify abnormalities and takes appropriate actions to return equipment to good operating condition.
- Preform preventive and/or predictive maintenance to maximize machine “up time”.
- Perform various building or plant maintenance functions to maintain the general operation of the facility.
- Work in other areas as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated manufacturing knowledge with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience is preferred.
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- 2 Yrs. of Programmable Logic (Preferred)
- 3 Yrs. of Mechanical Maintenance knowledge (Preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Preferred)
