Medical Office Administrator
Summit City Prosthetics & Orthotics, an intimate, family-owned company, is hiring a full-time Medical Office Administrator for their Fort Wayne, Indiana clinic.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, detail oriented, positive and motivated to provide great medical administrative support and an exceptional patient experience for our Fort Wayne office. The ideal candidate should have experience with customer service, be reliable, friendly, self-motivated and organized. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and understanding of health insurance.
This position would include a variety of administrative tasks including excellent communication via phone and in person with patients and referral sources, answering phones, scheduling, and general prosthetic/orthotic paperwork management.
Previous experience in the prosthetic and orthotic profession is not required, only a willingness and desire to learn new skills and work in a fun, fast paced and supportive environment with a growing team! Preferred experience includes one to three years of administrative office experience, preferably in a medical setting with medical software.

Responsibilities:
- Maintaining electronic and/or hard copies of charts and/or medical paperwork.
- Communicating with local physician offices, requesting required paperwork for mutual patients.
- Finalizing completed charts by confirming all needed items are included.
- Working together with the team to answer phone calls and reply to faxes.
- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Assisting with insurance credentialing with multiple insurance companies.
- Performing clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
- Greeting patients, obtaining updated information and escorting them to their patient room.
- Protecting examinee rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a medical office preferred, but not required. Compensation based on level of experience.
- Ability to develop good interpersonal relationships with patients, staff and healthcare providers.
- Must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
- Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
- Must have a full understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must possess the ability to manage changes to a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to commute to designated locations every day.
- Must be willing to learn, assume a flexible schedule, possess excellent communication skills and be a team player with a desire to grow in the healthcare field.
