Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ironworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in various construction techniques. As an Ironworker, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and installation of structural frameworks, ensuring that projects meet safety standards and building codes. Your expertise in reading blueprints and working with power tools will be essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Assemble and erect steel structures, including beams, columns, and trusses.
- Assemble Misc. metals, stairs, and setting equipment.
- Connecting the iron and rigging the iron.
- Operate telehandlers and other heavy machinery to lift and position materials.
- Utilize power tools for cutting, welding, and fastening metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards during construction.
- Conduct inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards or issues.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar construction role is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
- Familiarity with machining processes and techniques is a plus.
- Experience with Flux wire welding and stick welding.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions safely.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards governing construction practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
