Position Summary : The Behavioral Health Service Line Director oversees all mental health and substance use services at the Care Clinic, ensuring alignment with Access, Stewardship, and Quality (ASQ) principles to deliver comprehensive and patient-centered care.Access : The Director ensures that behavioral health services are accessible to all patients, promoting equitable care and removing barriers to treatment. They work to expand service availability, streamline intake processes, and integrate behavioral health into primary care and dental services for seamless, holistic patient care.Stewardship : The Director oversees the effective use of resources, balancing operational efficiency with patient care needs. This includes managing budgets responsibly, fostering a supportive and sustainable environment for staff, and guiding the development of cost-effective, evidence-based behavioral health interventions.Quality : The Director champions the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care, continuously monitoring and improving program outcomes. They ensure that clinical services meet the highest standards of care while addressing the unique needs of each patient. This includes staff development through clinical supervision, consultation, and training to maintain excellence in care delivery.As part of the primary care treatment team, this role develops and sustains an integrated behavioral health program in collaboration with primary care and dental services. The Director provides leadership to behavioral health staff, supporting clinical skill development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities may include direct services such as mental health assessments, treatment planning, intake, case management, and group / individual / family therapies.The Behavioral Health Service Line Director demonstrates regard for the rights of all patients, delivering respectful and considerate care in a safe, confidential environment. By upholding the principles of ASQ, this position ensures the success of SCCC's team-based, patient-centered approach to care.Essential Functions : Provide general administrative support and management of all Behavioral Health (BH) program aspects.Oversee all BH staff and act as a clinical supervisor when needed.Coordinate and / or implement training activities as needed to serve the community and ensure providers' proficiency.Oversee BH crisis response for Clinic patients and community partners.Monitor training and proficiency of BH staff, including monitoring treatment measures and outcomes.Ensure client welfare through ethical and quality care measures, including but not limited to co-signing supervisee notes, monitoring client care, and observations of sessions.Stay current on BH best practices and initiatives at the local and national levels.Act as a representative of the Care Clinic with patients, staff, and the public in a professional and supportive manner, including participation in community initiatives and planning.Work collaboratively with clinical, dental, and organizational leadership, community partners, and stakeholders in line with department needs and objectives.In collaboration with the Grant Manager, support acquisition and management grants to fund BH and integrated care services, including completion of grant requirements.Ensure appropriate collection of data by team members and external partners and provide analysis of reported data for integrated care services.Conduct quality assurance activities, including chart reviews, reviewing unanticipated outcome reports, and developing and monitoring practice protocols and procedures.Maintain and oversee APA accredited internship program and Master level training program for students completing practicum and internships. This includes recruiting, training, and providing administrative supervision and / or clinical supervision. Establish and monitor program including credentials, training, and scheduling of interns in collaboration with human resources.Assisted in the development of the BH department budget and organizational budget, as well as the review of monthly financials.Aid leadership in developing and testing creative solutions that turn the mission into tangible and measurable results. Assist in strategic planning, site visits, staff retreats, meetings, reviewing and providing input for BH-related grant presentations on various issues, etc.Monitor and improve operational patient flow in collaboration with team members.Perform all Integrated Behavioral Health provider functions as outlined in the BH job description.Follow CEO and Leadership Team directives regarding Behavioral Health services.Demonstrate appropriate balance of work and personal life.Additional Requirements : Grants are vital to Care Clinic revenues and directly or indirectly support all positions. This role may have responsibilities that are closely associated with grant deliverables. Grants and grant responsibilities may change over time.Complete all required training as designated by HR and the position supervisor.Adhere to all policies within the organization and those outlined within the SCCC Employee Handbook.Comply with all SCCC Vaccine Mandates.Willingness to travel and work at other SCCC locations as determined by the supervisor.Comply with all applicable Credentialing and Privileging requirements in a timely manner.Embrace the SCCC Mission and Vision and agree to work within the SCCC Guiding Principles and the principles set by the position supervisor.Must participate in quality assurance / improvement activities when applicable.Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to engage in each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Education / Experience : Must Haves to be successful : Master-level degree or higher in a recognized mental health profession (counseling, social work, marriage, and family therapy). M.A., M.S. in Clinical Counseling (or related area), LCSW is required.Licensed in Colorado and Registered with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).Current CPR certification.Knowledge in evidence-based approaches to clinical supervision and training.Academic and / or job experience in legal and ethical decision-making, individual and cultural diversity, diagnosis and treatment planning, evidence-based practice and interventions for psychotherapy, theoretical and conceptualization skills, psychopharmacology and behavioral medicine, professional consultation, integrated care, clinical administration, and utilization of electronic health records.Have obtained all the training to become a clinical supervisor or is working towards obtaining clinical supervisor status (e.g., Compliance with supervision courses and supervision hours)Reading, writing, and speaking the English language is required.Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and database software.Ability to work in a team and to share responsibilities and duties.Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict in a straightforward, empathic, and timely manner.Ability to be friendly and empathic regarding co-workers and patients.Nice to Haves : Experience in grant writingRead, write, and clearly speak the Spanish language preferred.Supervisory Responsibilities : Integrated Behavioral Health DepartmentWork Environment : The work environment in a healthcare setting can be fast-paced and involves communication with patients and medical personnel. This role is highly clerical. Requires the ability to work autonomously and stay on task.
