Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Gathers, analyzes, and interprets large volumes of data from multiple sources to support business objectives.
- Ensures data integrity and accuracy by performing regular data audits and validation checks.
- Maintains and updates databases, ensuring data is organized and accessible for reporting purposes.
- Develops, designs, and generates reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Analyzes trends and patterns in data to identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborates with various departments to understand their data reporting needs and deliver customized solutions.
- Presents findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting efficiency.
- Maintains updated knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in data analytics and reporting.
- Develops and maintains documentation for data processes, workflows, reporting standards, and data dictionaries.
The person hired for this position can be hired in Lakeland, FL, Gainesville, GA, or Baton Rouge, LA which offers a hybrid work environment of 3 days in the office and 2 days' work from home.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, reporting or a related field. Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred.
Continuing progress toward and/or completion of a certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include an Associate Insurance Data Manager (AIDM), or Certificate in General Insurance (INS).
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Performs work under moderate supervision. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Proficiency in analyzing data sets and identifying patterns, trends, and insights. Proficiency in reporting and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and familiarity with scripting languages. Develops and maintains knowledge of data sources content and structure to assess the quality of data. General knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Develops understanding of industry products/coverages and applies that knowledge to support business activity. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
