Position Description: Summit Counseling Solutions is looking for an invested and accountable individual who is a self-starter, proactive, collaborative, has excellent judgment, and takes initiative. Our outpatient adolescent Day Treatment Program is rapidly growing as we continue to provide relevant, innovative academic support, as part of the evidenced-based PHP and IOP counseling services we provide to local youth struggling to maintain mental health. Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily academic support and intervention for students in the SCS day treatment program.
- Conduct the academic portion of new student orientation for new admissions assigned to your caseload.
- Develop, support, and maintain accountability for student progress toward academic and therapeutic goals and treatment.
- Work consistently and collaboratively with students, parents and school personnel to prepare students to supportively and successfully transition from outpatient day treatment back to a permanent school setting.
- Conduct general observation of and assessment for contributors to academic decline
- Become familiar with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and recommendations/accommodations necessary for student progress
- Act as a liaison between SCS, parents, and schools.
- Model and implement effective Positive Intervention and Behavior Management strategies, as a part of supporting student progress toward daily academic and therapeutic goals and progress.
- Regularly manage the expectations of all academic stakeholders including students, parents, school personnel.
- Maintain consistent communication, with students, parents/guardians, school personnel and various other relative internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively track and communicate daily and weekly student goals, updates, and progress.
- Participate in and attend all internal and external meetings necessary to promote collaboration toward student progress
- Provide proactive therapeutic support to students struggling academically and behaviorally
- Attend and support team meetings with parents, therapists, and other stakeholders with details pertinent to academic progress relative to overall progress in treatment.
- Maintain daily documentation of progress toward student academic goals, as well as academically related therapeutic progress made during academic programming.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with local school districts, public, private, and charter schools, including alternative education providers and platforms.

Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, SpEd, Secondary Education or other related field required
- Previous experience working in secondary (12-18 yrs) education setting preferred
Minimum Requirements:
- All candidates must be able to pass a background check.
- Two year commitment
- All candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
