What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Summit County Government (CO)?
Primary duties of the successful candidate will be operation of Landfill and Recycling related equipment, which includes, loaders, dozers, excavators, blade, compactor, roll-off truck, forklift, and bailer at the Summit County Resource Allocation Park. Additional other duties will include hauling recycled materials from the drop-off centers, maintaining and cleaning drop-off centers, as well as sorting recyclables at the (SCRAP) facility. Also performs other manual tasks as needed. Chosen candidate will perform other manual tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational school desirable.
- Experience as a heavy equipment operator or a combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job are a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year operating similar heavy equipment.
- The ability to obtain a Colorado Commercial Vehicle Driver License (CDL) within 6-months of hiring.
